Wachovia targets retirement planning
Charlotte Business Journal
Wachovia Corp. has launched a national print advertising campaign to emphasize the importance of retirement planning.
The bank will run the ads through the end of the year in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek and Kiplingers.
Wachovia says it is running the ads because many consumers are worried about saving for retirement but only a small number have detailed retirement plans.
"The ads focus on accumulating funds and increasing income for retirement," says Rob Elfner, recently named director of retirement marketing for Wachovia's retirement and investment products group.
Charlotte-based Wachovia (NYSE:WB) is one of the nation's largest diversified financial services companies. The company has retail and commercial-banking operations in 16 states.
