The Times of India has reported that an Indian teacher has been beaten to death by an angry mob after making a homemade porn film with one of his students.

The sex footage, which was being sold in a local market in Burdwan, West Bengal, captured the female student having sexual contact with Praloy Bhattacharjee, a 49-year-old private tutor.

After some locals recognised the picture of the girl on the movie cover they gathered other people to confront the teacher.

The angry mob locked him inside a building and savagely beat him for half an hour.

While police eventually managed to rescue Bhattacharjee, he died from his injuries en route to the hospital.

Officers have said the teacher was involved with the boss of a local video parlour, who was involved in a homemade porn racket that targeted poor girls.
